This is an elevated station above the road. It has entry – exit structures at the road level. The middle level is the concourse level which has the operational areas and paid concourses. The uppermost level is the platform level with tracks for trains in two directions.

What inspired our design team the most was the concept of "flight" and movement of a bird. Taking this further the M G Road station was evolved out of the form of a bird. The wings are the parts where the train moves. The body is where it is above the road. The tail is where it connects with the alighting part of the station across the road. When seen from a distance it does appear like a bird.
